File Extension TIL Description:

Tilia Graph is an application used to plot pollen, or other data that need stratigraphic plotting. There are different kinds of graphs that can be done with the application such as histograms, silhouette curves, raw numbers and presences or absences. The program runs in different platforms like Windows NT. Loading the program differs in different platforms. When the platform in use is Windows NT, the .til file extension is used as an executable file.

The complete filename of the TIL file used is AUTOEXEC.TIL, and it is created first before the Tilia Graph can be loaded. The .til file extension is created in a simple text editor such as Notepad, and the user must enter several lines of code to run the Tilia Graph application. Specifically, the code placed in the .til file extension interprets as the system needs to start the program in a MS-DOS environment; next would be to initialize the application's drivers and the user can optionally set a network printer that will be used to print diagrams or graphs.

To run the .til extension, the file extension of the autoexec file of Windows NT must be changed into TIL. Where in the original autoexec file for Windows NT is AUTOEXEC.NT and the user must change it to AUTOEXEC.TIL. The .til file extension can now automatically run in the command prompt just by entering the characters tg, which stands for Tilia Graph.

The program or lines of code in the .til file extension when running the program in Windows 2000 is longer, but still has similarities with codes used for Windows NT. Additional codes in the .til file extension commands the system to install extensions for the CD ROM, load the network redirector before the dosx.exe, and install the support for DPMI. Running the AUTOEXEC.TIL is the same when running the file in Windows NT.
