File Extension CFG Description:

The file extension CFG contains the generic preferences of the user for a specific program. Included within the file with the .cfg file extension are settings and configuration information of the program that uses it. There are several programs that use the CFG file extension and some of them include the Pro/ENGINEER, DataFlex, and Delphi projects.

As a configuration file, the CFG file extension constitutes the required specifications that the machine needs to achieve, before the program that uses the file extension CFG can be installed. Additionally, the file with the .cfg file extension has the capability to store various settings of the program modified by the user. During this process, the program automatically modifies the default settings within the file with the .cfg file extension. New settings and configurations are loaded whenever the user activates the program that uses the CFG file extension.
